Sci-fi movies oftenly raises the theme of Gods. The sort of smart-ass hi-tech dudes who are using pirated technologies to keep their superior image alive. These Gods need the uneducated, usually illiterate people, which believes that hi-tech is a magic and worship those who has such a stuff.

On the contrary, there are positive heroes who explain to illiterate peasants that there are no Gods. Just some advanced people who possesses advanced technologies.

Does it resembles anything to you? To me, it looks very similar to Christian God concept. The God from machine Bible doesn't want people to grow, to know more, to advance.

Bible is the book of prohibition. Of course, "monkey lifestyle" denial sounds reasonable - don't kill, don't steel, don't envy, don't fuck neighbours' stuff and so on... But the prohibition of psychology, self-advancement, esoteric stuff sounds very unreasonable. Except if God wants people to stay in darkness of illiteracy in broad sense. The prohibiton to become a God, to become a rival for this mythological creature, which was thought out as thing to worship.

Why God stood against Adam and Eve? Just because they got access to the divine database. They used the crack, passed to them by the first worm, the biblical one, not a computer. God hates hackers. God keeps the knowledge away from people.

Does educated and scientific minded people need any God, any religion? You say "spirtiuality", you say "the spiritual needs"? What the damn spirituality is in feeling yourself like a piece of slave shit, in feeling yourself a sheep which need the sheapherd? Do you need such a spirituality?

Who is the bitterest enemy of advancement and freethinking? The Church is. As a matter of fact, the word "freethinking" originated in contrast of religious enslaving obscurantism. The Church denies psychology, because psychology cures from God, expel it from mind, removes the feeling of inferiority. The feeling which feeds the beliefs.

The human, as a matter of fact, is a retarded piece of bugs and imperfections, and he is the subject for debugging, patching and upgrade. While humans just stepped before such an opportunity, the Church is looking for an opportunity to interfere. I mean cloning, genetic researches, genetic engineering and kinda this.

Why to interfere this? Why trying to stop this? Just for the single reason - to leave the human in state of retarded piece of bugs, because such state is much suitable for believe in God. And, to improve human means to patch the work of "perfect engineer", who, as Christians says, have created this piece of glitched biomass. And to undermine the Church's authority.

Drawing the analogy to sci-fi, we can see that believers are the helpers of alien fraudster God, therewith Christian God has no any hi-tech. They want the human to remain dumb for being the perfect slaves. Because as much the human know, as less he needs in Gods and any other superior stuff.

Faith... is a mental disease, the subject of therapy. Like children who imagine virtual friends, trusts them, hear them and talk to them. For separate child, it's a problem. We have more, much more. Billons of children who pray and trust in imaginate God, the Big Brother God who watching them.
